I have toothache and can’t eat, so March’s quiz is about FOOD!
Ready Steady Cook is a terrible show where people bring on an unrelated bunch of ingredients they bought for under a fiver and the celebrity chef has to make something edible out of them. “Well Jamie, I’ve brought this nice piece of liver, two Mars Bars and a button that fell off my cardi, I was thinking some kind of SoufflĂ©?”
So for the quiz, I’ll give you a list of ingredients and you have to cook them up and see what book you get! Easy as pumpkin pie.
Shopping bag 1 contains: hot buttered scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, tongue sandwiches and ginger beer.
Shopping bag 2 contains: onions, salt, chocolate, quails and rose petals
Shopping bag 3 contains: mouldy wedding cake
Shopping bag 4 contains: eggplant, gardenias and rose petals
Shopping bag 5 contains: everlasting gobstoppers, fizzy lifting drink, rainbow drops, and exploding sweets
Shopping bag 6 contains: hot sausage and mustard, cold jelly and custard, and gruel
Do you think writers are so obsessed with food because they have to sit at home all day and try to ignore the biscuit tin?
What’s your favourite food/fiction combo?
Do you eat while you read? I used to bring the toaster into the living room and make endless hot buttered toast while I read novels that were not on my university reading list. Pure joy.
HUUUGE thank you for my prize! It made my week! Can't wait to try my hand at the quiz when I get home! xxx

More Heston Blumenthal than Ainsley Harriot though.
